Kiosk / POS Mini PCs

We use these systems (POS = Point of Sale ) every day when paying in shops, restaurants and cafes. We are so used to this that we do not pay attention to the operation of these devices.

The fact is, the process of paying for goods at the checkout is a complex sequence of actions.

First, it must read the product barcode using a scanner, upon which the POS system must get the price from a database. Then it needs to conduct the actual monetary transaction, after which the receipt must be printed out. At the same time, the system needs to write off the unit from the inventory. When the quantity of goods falls below a certain level, the staff needs to be notified.

Polywell's mini PCs for POS and information kiosks are built for high reliability with industrial grade components with this process in mind - making them highly popular with system integrators and companies operating industrial facilities and networks.
